The Gerriets/Grossmann Scenic Brush System uses only CHUNGKING CHINA BOAR BRISTLE to manufacture professional scenic brushes. Chungking bristle is renowned for its stiffness, excellent shape holding quality and long life. Each long, natural bristle is tapered and has a flagged (split) end to help it hold a full charge of paint. Bundles of bristles are shaped to desired form and are then set into SOLID EPOXY FILLING A STAINLESS STEEL FERRULE. A threaded bolt, of either nylon or stainless steel, is also embedded and centered in the ferrule. Each Brush head can be securely attached to one of three handles described below. In addition to the brushes shown, we offer a selection of Lay-In/Broom Brushes with Bristle lengths from 2.5" - 3.7" x 2" - 4" wide x 4" - 10.2" long.


212. LANDSCAPER - Equal bristle length. Made of Chungking Boar Bristle, the finest scenic bristle available. Bristle has been embedded in a mixture of epoxy and glass microspheres which completely fills the ferrule, thus eliminating unwanted dribbles. Ferrule width: 1" - 3", Bristle length: 1.8" - 2.75"

213. CHILSELED DIAGONAL LANDSCAPER - For lining and graining. Same quality construction as the LANDSCAPER. Ferrulue width: 1" - 3", Bristle length, diagonal: 1.5"/1.9" - 2.15"/2.75"

215. EXTRA LONG LANDSCAPER - Holds more paint. Long, natural Chungking bristles make this brush very efficient for smoothing out lines. Ferrule width: 1" - 3", Bristle length: 2.45" - 3.55"

414. LAQURED FITCH HANDLE - For scenic artists who paint vertically on paint frames. Ideal balance for the smaller brushes in the line. Available in 10.25" or 12" length.

412. FIBERGLASS HANDLE - Weight is 4.5 oz. ; length is 35 1/2". Can be easily custom cut to size. The shaft is flexible and has a little snap to it that is desirable at certain times. Indestructable, rot proof. Has a turned oak handle which has been left natural and unvarnished to create just the right "feel". A deep socket bolt is epoxy glued to the bottom of the fiberglass shaft to accept various brush heads in the system. (Not Shown)

410. TURNED ALUMINUM HANDLE - A lathe turned aluminum handle with a threaded end to accept various brush heads which are screwed into the handle. Weight is approx. 4.5 oz., length is 34 3/8". The cornerstone of the Gerriets/Grossman Professional Scenic Brush System. The ultimate in a lightweight handle, transmits brush strokes from the end of the brush to artists' hand with great control and sensitivity.
